Helping women to feel strong and confident through pregnancy, postnatally & beyond.
I am Elizabeth. I live in Barnes with my husband, our two children and a French bulldog. Our third baby is due in June 2019.
When I had my first baby in January 2013, I felt overwhelmed and under-prepared. This was despite having attended my NCT classes diligently, reading numerous books and booking a maternity nurse to help us through the early days. I struggled to adapt to my new role. I did not instinctively know how to look after my baby. I felt lazy not being at work yet achieving very little at home. I knew that exercise would help my mood, but I lacked the time and energy to fit it in. I was not quite sure what was safe for me to do so ended up doing very little. When my son was born in December 2014, my mental adjustment was a lot smoother, but I now had a newborn baby and a toddler to care for. I felt stretched and perpetually tired. I failed to find my groove with fitness and nutrition.
When my son was around 18 months, I joined a local gym. I enjoyed the buzz of working out and began to feel more like myself again. I was mortified, though, when one day I wet myself during the skipping station of a Circuits class. I was too embarrassed to say anything or leave the class so I did a further two rounds of the circuit before going home to research frantically and desperately what had just happened to me.
This was the start of a hugely fulfilling (and at times frustrating) rehab journey for me, as well as a realisation of how underserved by mainstream fitness women like me were. I believe everyone should be able to take part in the activities they enjoy or have the confidence to try something new without fear of leaking or pain. So, in December 2016, after 12 years as a barrister, I left my full-time job to requalify as a personal trainer and to set up The Mummy Coach,
Whether you are hoping to conceive soon, you are already pregnant, you are a new mum or have been a mum for quite a while, I would love to work with you.
